"Es gibt keine Markierung an der Wand, die die genaue Größe der Frauen angibt. Es gibt kein Metermaß, säuberlich unterteilt in die Bruchstücke eines Zentimeters, das man an die Qualitäten einer guten Mutter oder an die Zuneigung einer Tochter oder an die Treue einer Schwester oder an die Tüchtigkeit einer Haushälterin anlegen kann."
In Antwort auf die oben zitierte Klage von Virginia Woolf will die ‚unabhängige Minderheit’ jene Wahrnehmung von Geschichte hinterfragen, die durch die ‚Stimme einer Mehrheit’ entstand und geschrieben wurde. Und indem sie dies tut, eine Alternative zum Zentimetermaß entdecken. Wie können wir es erreichen, wichtige Stimmen und Handlungen in einer Weise wahrzunehmen, dass ihr Widerspruch gegen hierarchische, chronologische und lineare Lesarten erkennbar wird? Könnten wir heute Markierungen an einer Wand brauchen?
